New Machine from ATS is added to the Jenton Range of Banding Machines

A new Banding Machine from ATS is the US2100, which can use banding tape of either 75mm or 100mm wide. Clear film or paper can be used.The machine has been launched due to customer demand and will help reduce the cost of inner packs and full shrink overwraps. The tape can be printed to improve the marketing and advertising of your product. Clean, odour free and consistent welding of the overlap is made by the unique ultrasonic welding system with no heating element to replace.The welding strength is adjustable to allow convenient tear off if required. The famous ATS soft tension action allow even the most fragile product to be banded without damage.

Z-Cards Get Their Band

Z -CARD® Europe Ltd. are using three ATS J-240 Banding Machines, supplied by Jenton International, to band their new ‘Z-Guides’ range of multifolded information cards.

The Z-CARD® is a unique new information format developed to provide maps, city guides, advice, recipes, travel information and other data in an easy to use and easy to keep way. It’s compact size and shape allows it to be kept handy in a wallet or pocket.

A clear heat seal polypropylene band is applied, tightened and heat sealed around the Z-CARD®s by the banding machine, without damaging the edges of the cover. The banded Z-CARD®s will not spring open and are thus more easily packed, transported and presented at point of sale.

“We are very pleased with the effect of the banding” says Conor O’Neill, managing director of Z-CARD® Europe, “It fits well with our brand values – it’s modern, innovative and presents well at point of sale.” Packaging material use is minimal, it can be easily removed after purchase without needing to be cut and the clear finish does not mask the printed card covers.

Jenton banding equipment can operate with clear or foamed plastic film materials or heat and ultrasonic seal papers. Materials can be printed and registered if required. Machines range from benchtop systems to fully automated lines.

Less is More with Banding

Southampton contract packaging specialists, KCC have specified ATS CE-240 heat seal Banding Machines for product banding requirements of several customers, including The Body Shop, for whom they are the largest contract packer on the south coast.The ATS CE-240 machines band a clear polypropylene band around presentation packs, holding lids tightly in place and preventing tampering. “We are very pleased with the banded packs” said James Hill, Contracts Executive of KCC, “Minimal use of packaging materials and the crystal type material ensures that original presentation is maintained and environmental impact is reduced.” Tension can be controlled to ensure a tight pack, especially important if a multipack of several cartons is required. Jenton can supply paper and film banding materials, automatic and bench top machines and printed materials are now available.

Banding Enables Switch From Cartons

Thompson & Morgan (Young Plants) Ltd. have introduced new packaging for their live plant mailing operation using an ultrasonically sealed clear tape band along their mailing package. 

Three ATS banding machines from Jenton have been added to the Thompson & Morgan mailing line and as a result, the company is able to use a sleeve in place of a glued folded carton. "The sleeve is far simpler to use and cheaper to buy than our previous carton" says Paul Sallis, Operations Manager, "and our packing time has been halved per pack. The band is robust and holds our mailer securely whilst being easy for the recipient to remove."

The 30mm wide clear PP tape is applied by the banding machine, with production speeds of up to 25 bands per minute being achieved.

Banding offers an opportunity for companies to take full advantage of the economy of a cardboard sleeve without complicated notching systems.

Security Bands around DVD Cases and CD Cases

Jenton Banding Systems have recently been involved in applying security bands around DVD cases and CD cases. Banding is totally different from strapping. Our systems use clear film, ribbon and paper. All of these can be printed with your message in colour and can be print registered around the case.
The band not only secures the product but also provides an ideal way of labelling the product with bar code, pricing information etc, printed directly on to the band, on - line.

The MS420 Banding Machine Now Available with Jumbo Roll Holder

The popular MS 420 banding machine is now available fitted to a “Jumbo Roll” holder.This enables larger tape rolls of up to 1000M to be used, giving savings in tape costs and less machine down time due to tape change over. The machine is also more portable – can be easily wheeled to the production area.

Higher Speed MS 420

Jenton now have in stock the MS420 S which is a higher speed version of the standard machine, up to 30 cycles per minute can be achieved subject to product.

Super Trolley

As well as supplying bench top MS 420 Banding Machines, Jenton are also able to supply the MS 420 mounted on a Jumbo Roll Trolley, which enables larger rolls of tape to be used (up to 1000M) and also makes the machine mobile so it can easily be transferred between working areas. The Jumbo trolley can be supplied in standard form or modified to suit your requirements. We recently supplied a fullycustomised "Super" Jumbo Trolley and Work Top to a large pharmaceutical company, that required a worktop to collate the product before placing into the banding machine . To allow access to the roll holder, the work top unclips from the MS 420 trolley and can be rolled clear for mounting the new roll.
